This past January marked the 10th year of KMT’s foundation.
The Trust was officially registered in Islamabad on January 3, 2006 in the aftermath of the devastating October 2005 earthquake that destroyed large swathes of Northern Pakistan, including most of the Kaghan Valley. We have been committed since that day towards building and operating our charitable Kaghan Memorial School (KMS) with the aim of providing education of a high standard to severely disadvantaged children from this remote and underdeveloped area which had been hit so hard by the calamity of 2005.
Our first year and a half were spent on securing 50 Kanals (6.25 acres) of land for our campus and then on building and furnishing our first classrooms and allied facilities so that we could get the School operational. Time really does fly,
and it does not seem like that long ago when KMS opened its doors to its initial two classes for a preparatory term in September 2008; but here we are now, into our eighth academic year after concluding
year seven in December, 2015.
The 2016 academic year started in March after our annual 3 month winter break, and as we look forward to another year of benchmarks, trials and achievements, we can pause to reflect on the past 12 to 18 months, which have probably been the most eventfuland challenging of our 10 year history.
